What is NEET UG
NEET UG is the national-level entrance examination conducted for admission to undergraduate medical courses in India. It is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
Purpose of NEET UG: NEET is the official entrance pathway for admission to medical courses in India. Through NEET, students compete for seats in various medical institutions, including government medical colleges, private medical colleges, deemed universities, and other institutions covered under the counselling process.
Examination Mode: NEET UG is conducted in pen-and-paper offline mode, where students mark answers on an OMR sheet.
Subjects in NEET UG: The NEET question paper is based on Physics, Chemistry, and Biology including Botany and Zoology.
Official Question Paper Pattern: As per the official pattern, the paper consists of 180 compulsory questions in total. Physics includes 45 questions, Chemistry includes 45 questions, and Biology includes 90 questions. The total marks are 720.
What Happens After the Exam: After the examination, the answer key and responses are released for candidates. Then the result is declared, which includes the candidate’s score and qualifying status. After results, admissions take place through the counselling process conducted by the relevant authorities as per applicable rules.
